CALIFORNIA (MPG) - Jan. 27, the Assembly Budget Committee held a hearing to discuss two legislative measures, Assembly Bill 1x and Assembly Bill 2x, to “Trump Proof” California. Budget Committee Member Assemblywoman Alexandra Macedo (R-Tulare), who represents the largest agricultural region in California, issued the following statement:

“Facing high prices for everything from rent to food, Californians struggle to pay their bills. Unable to pay for everyday expenses, residents resort to charging their credit cards resulting in high debt.

“In the Central Valley, communities are without clean, reliable drinking water. Farm land is being fallowed because there is no water.

“We need water.

“Wildfire victims need help to rebuild.

“We should work with President Trump to help wildfire victims, to build our water infrastructure and to lower costs, not pick legal battles.”

Elected in 2024, Assemblywoman Alexandra Macedo represents the 33rd District, which includes Tulare, Kings and Fresno Counties.
