Statewide Public Safety Group Backs Steven Bradford for Insurance Commissioner

LOS ANGELES, CA (MPG) - Bolstering his bid to serve the people of California as the next State Insurance Commissioner, today former State Senator Steven Bradford earned a powerful endorsement from the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA).
With 30,000 members statewide, CCPOA is one of the largest and most widely respected public safety organizations in California. In a letter sent to the Bradford for State Insurance Commissioner campaign, California Correctional Peace Officers Association President Neil Flood wrote:

ABOUT STEVEN
A longtime public servant, Steven Bradford previously served in the California State Senate, as well as in the California State Assembly and on the City Council in the City of Gardena. Throughout his tenure in the legislature, Bradford served in a range of leadership positions, including as Chair of the Senate Energy Utilities and Communications Committee and the Assembly Committee on Utilities and Commerce, Chair of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee, Chair of the Senate Labor, Public Employment and Retirement Committee, as well as Chair of the Senate Public Safety Committee. Bradford also previously served as Chair and later Vice Chair of the California Legislative Black Caucus, as well as on the first-in-the-nation Reparations Task Force.
In local and state office, Bradford has developed a long record of accomplishments with a depth of knowledge on policy. On the Gardena City Council amid a near bankruptcy, Bradford helped steer the city out of millions of dollars in debt and brought the city back to solvency and economic prosperity. Following devastating power outages across California, Bradford held utilities accountable and presided over investigative hearings which garnered national attention. A visionary in the justice, fairness and inclusivity movements, Bradford has authored and helped pass a broad spectrum of bills on criminal justice reform, economic development, banking and finance, economic equity, energy policy, reproductive freedom, gun safety laws, college athletics and more.
